Armstrong enlisted in the Continental Army while still a student at Princeton. He became Senator, Minister to France, and then Secretary of War in the administration of James Madison. Armstrong was forced to resign from his position when the British invaded Washington in 1814 - the same year he wrote this check. This reproduction would look great in an album or display.
